What is Church?
The word Church simply means a gathering of citizens called from their homes into a public place, for an assembly. In the context of the Bible this definition becomes even more specific when you understand who is doing the calling, and who it is that is called.
First Corinthians 12:18 states, “But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body (the local Church), as it hath pleased him”
By this verse we can plainly see God is doing the calling. We also see he is calling the members. But who are the members?
There are many verses that tells us exactly who the members are. To sum it up any person that has received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior immediately becomes a child of God, a citizen of Heaven, and a member of the the body of Christ.
Therefore, Church is a gathering of the members of the body (believers’ of Christ) being called out of their earthly homes by their Father God, into a specific public place; to assemble for worship, instruction, council and fellowship together.
Finding the church God has for you and your family; can be awkward, uncomfortable and overwhelming at times. At Disciples House we want to make church introduction as easy and comfortable as possible. We have a variety of ways to help you get to know us. Exploring this website is a great first step!
The Abundant Life
Jesus states in John 10:10 (NKJV), “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. ”
There is a better way of life!
There is an abundant life, available to every person, through Jesus Christ!
You do not have to be sick, broke, depressed, discouraged, addicted or defeated every day of your life. No matter where you are in life. Freedom and Victory are available in Christ.
