A WORD & SPIRIT CHURCH
Our Advisors
Our Pastors have known our advisors for a many years; they all have a long standing relationship with each other. Our Advisers are and will continue to be the backbone of our church. They listen to the Holy Spirit daily and are doers of God's word. Our advisors are stable in all they're ways.
We count on our advisors to hold us accountable, give us advice and correction when needed. We appreciate God's gifts in their lives and know God is using them to help lead Disciples House in the right direction and accomplish God’s work.
Disciples House counts on these people to be the watchmen over the ministry. Our Pastors, count on these people to answer any questions you have, pray for and with you. They will inform the pastors of your needs. Our advisors stay in touch with Pastors Michael and Robbi on very regular basis, daily if needed. God has a plan for all of our lives. The Disciples House ministry team is a family given to you by God, to help you understand what God has for you and to help you obtain that plan.
Maury and Bridgett Curtis = Are both from the Murphy/Hayesville aera. They have two daughters and a set of twin grandchildren. Maury and Bridgett are both very involved with their enter family. They love them greatly.
Maury is laid back, thinks things through with a balanced biblically view, has great sense of humor, is a long-time employee of Moog, and a car enthusiast. Maury is very good at laying out the black and white of any situation in a soft but clear manner.
Bridgett is the granddaughter of a pastor. She is both a teacher in Early Childhood Development at TCCC, and the Family Service Manager at MPP in Franklin. She has a rock-solid faith in God, but has an insider view of the balancing ministry with everyday life. This allows Bridgett to advice with a bare basic realistic view.
Kathy Waggoner = Has been in Murphy since 1997. She was led here by God. Kathy has a son who is a Graduate from Hayesville High School and Texas A&M. Her son is now married to a wonder young lady. They are both doctors and work in the research and development side of medicine. Kathy is very close to both of them and is super proud of them.
Kathy is Board Certified Predication and Entrepreneur. She owns her practice, is the founder owner of Tojo’s Legacy (mini farm for miniature donkey’s) and a writer of children’s books. She is also a hard-core hiker and runner.
With that said Kathy is a child of God, before she is anything. Given the chance Kathy will tell you it is God that makes her able to do all that she does. She sees things from a very business point of view, she looks at the long-term impacts and goals. Kathy is also rock solid in her faith and understands that God's way is the right way. Kathy’s views, business experience and spiritual stability is a valuable asset to our pastors. She comes at things with a natural business view and addresses everything with and in prayer.
Ann Wade = While being raised in the military; Ann came to love North Carolina. She just felt at home in North Carolina. Ann brought her property in the Hiwassee Dam area in 1983, then moved to it 1990. Ann is a widow that has two daughters (one happens to be Pastor Robbi); two wonderful son-in-law’s and a grandson, that she is very proud of!
Ann also has an entrepreneur background. Ann was a self-employed hair dresser for nearly 22 years. During that time, she was also an instructor. When she moved to Murphy, Ann was ready for a complete change. She was given the opportunity to be an apprentice Potter at John C. Campbell Folk School. Through that apprenticeship, she become a very accomplished Potter. At this point Ann still does some pottery but her main focus is the Church.
Ann has a large heart to help; she sees that God and His kingdom must be a priority. She has a very realistic life view and is gifted at being a peacemaker. Ann has a call on her life to be a prayer warrior. Therefore, she is very good to keep things between God and her until asked, but also supports and correct when needed. Her unique perspective allows her to advice our pastors’ in a way that helps them, view things from both sides. She is not afraid to tell our pastors’ when they need to make an adjustment.
